Washington D.C.— President of the Central Tibetan Administration, Dr Lobsang Sangay met Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the United States House of Representatives in Washington D.C., on Thursday, thanking her for sponsoring the Tibetan policy and support act.

Dharamshala, India — The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) thanked the U.S. House of Representatives for passing a bipartisan bill to update and strengthen the Tibetan Policy Act of 2002 and address the ongoing oppression of Tibetans in Tibet by the Chinese government. The Bill was passed on January 28, 2020, with overwhelming majority of votes of 392, to hold China accountable for Human Rights abuses in Tibet.

Dharamshala, India — The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), previously known as Ganden Phodrang, the government of Tibet has thanked the United States government and Congress for approving $9 million in funding for the Tibetan community in India and Nepal. This tremendous support from the United States is essential as the CTA is the legitimate representative of the Tibetan people around the world.

Bodhgaya, India — His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama congratulated President of Taiwan Tsai Ing-wen and her party on their landslide election victory on Saturday. The spiritual leader of Tibet expressed confidence that under her continued leadership she will be able to make further strides in bringing peace and prosperity to the people of Taiwan.
