Bodhgaya, Bihar, India – His Holiness the Dalai Lama, spiritual leader of Tibet, wrote to Lula da Silva to congratulate him on being sworn in again as President of Brazil on January 1, 2023, saying, "May I wish you every success in fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of the people of Brazil, and in contributing to the development of a happier, more peaceful world."

Bodhgaya, Bihar, India — His Holiness the Dalai Lama visited the Wat-pa Thai temple in Bodhgaya and addressed the gathering saying, "Harmony is the root of happiness, wars and weapons were created because there was no harmony, we should pray for the world peace, but prayers alone are not enough, we should seek friendship and harmony among ourselves through our actions." 

New Delhi — His Holiness the Dalai Lama visited Salwan Education Trust on Wenesday and he said to the teachers and students, “Peace will not fall from the sky. It depends on us developing a genuine sense of brotherhood and sisterhood. On a superficial level there are differences between us, but they are no grounds for fighting with others. We need to make a peaceful world free of weapons. If disagreements arise, we must solve them by talking them through. Weapons are of no use."

Washington DC — Senators Jeff Merkley, Todd Young and Patrick Leahy introduced a bill in the Senate on Tuesday entitled "The Promoting a Resolution to the Tibet-China Conflict Act", which would pressure China to resume negotiations with representatives of the Dalai Lama and reject as "historically false" China's claim that Tibet has been part of China since ancient times.
