Dharamshala, India – The Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (TCHRD) released a new report called “Distorted Development: Chinese Discourse on the Right to Development and its Implementation in Tibet” on February 23, 2021. “Chinese conceptualisation of the right to development threatens to undermine other fundamental political, civil and cultural rights by making them subservient to economic rights” the report stated.

Dharamshala, India — In a press conference presided over by Wangdu Tsering, Chief Election Commissioner of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) and additional commissioners, Geshema Delek Wangmo and Sonam Gyaltsen, the Election commission declared the result of Preliminary election of Sikyong and Members of the 17th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (TPiE) on February 8, 2021. However, the revised result was announced the next day.

CTA strongly rejected the accusations and defined it as nothing but a frail attempt to represent the voice of the people, and merely give out the illusion that China is a democratic nation.
