Dharamshala: - In further crackdown on the dissents in Tibet, a Tibetan writer, was arrested by Chinese police in Chengdu City of Sichuan Province for allegedly publishing speeches of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and his political writings on Tibet.

Dharamshala: - Since August, the situation remains very tense in Yulshul County, Kham region of eastern Tibet over the past several weeks, after a massive crackdown carried out by armed Chinese military forces to disperse Tibetans peacefully protesting against gold mining in the region.

Dharamshala: - Three Tibetan monks detained last year from Wonpo Monastery have been sentenced to prison, with two monks receiving four years and another receiving three years in prison in Wonpo Village in Dzamey Township of Dzachukha area in Sershul, Karze County, Kham region of eastern Tibet.

Dharamshala: Unlike other alleged corruption or criminal trials in China, a Chinese court has sentenced a popular Tibetan singer to five years in prison over his songs about self-immolation protest in Tibet.

Dharamshala: - Gangkye Drupa Kyab is a writer, poet, teacher and a father of two who was sentenced early this month to five years and six months in prison for alleged political activities against Chinese rule in Tibet.
