Dharamshala, India — A Tibetan in occupied Tibet self-immolated five years ago in protest against the brutal policies of China in Tibet. The incident came to light five years later only under the excessive control and constant surveillance of China over Tibet. The lack of basic freedom in Tibet, pushed Tibetans to take extreme steps such as self-immolations.

Dharamshala, India — Gendun Lhundup is a 46-year old Tibetan writer and poet hailing from Rebgong County in Amdo province of north-eastern Tibet (Ch: Tongren County, Qinghai, China) has been arrested by Chinese police on December 2, 2020 for allegedly raising his voice in freedom of authors and artists to exercise their thoughts freely according to a source.

Dharamshala, India — Rinchen Tsultrium, a Tibetan monk from Kundo in Ngaba County of Amdo, in Tibet was arrested on the night of August 1, 2019, along with two other monks. The two companions were released to go back to the monastery after a while. Rinchen Tsultrium was confined continuously in connection to his discussions and writing on Tibet issues with Tibetans abroad.
