A Training Programme for University Students Held in New Delhi

training-students-delhi2013New Delhi: - A special training programme for Tibetan students, who are currently studying at universities in New Delhi and Bangalore being held in New Delhi, the capital of India, focusing on enhancement Business Communication and Etiquette, and English language skills.

TechNoServe and Central Tibetan Administration [CTA] as part of the project funded by USAID earmarked for 2012-13 organised an 80 Hours JobAbility® Training Programme for University Students at New Delhi and Bangalore from 4 January 2013.

According to the Tibetan administration media Tibet Net, over 70 university students took part in these programmes. Mr. Jigme Tsultrim, Joint Secretary at Department of Home was at Tibetan Youth Hostel, New Delhi to meet the participants.

The curriculum of the training programme was designed by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Graduate Content experts.

Topics devoted to enhancement of Business Communication and Etiquette, and English language skills were imparted during the training.

The training is targeted to help Tibetan college graduates and students who are looking for jobs. The training was conducted in classroom sessions with audio-visual aids and student workbooks.

Participant progress was tracked through End of Lesson Assessments. At the end of each training module, participants were asked to complete an End of Lesson Assessment which is then submitted to the facilitator for evaluation.

To complete the course, a participant must have scored 60% on average in all the End of Lesson Assessments.

Tsering Tharchin, a final year student at Delhi University told Tibet Net that, he has attended many workshops and felt that there is always something or the other to learn from each workshop distinctively.

This one is especially important as I will be looking for a job after my studies and I would like to be a superior candidate to fill in a position of my choice."
