Berlin: - Tibet Initiative Deutschland e.V. (TID) and the Association of Tibetans in Germany (VTD) are celebrating their 25th and 35th anniversary at the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg on August 26, 2014.
The highlight of the event is a one hour discussion on Tibet between His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and the TV-journalist Gert Scobel.
The event will also have a performance by the Tibetan singer, Sonam Yangchen.
TID founded in 1989, advocates for the Tibetan people's right to self-determination and the protection of human rights in Tibet. With 60 regional groups and nearly 2,000 members throughout Germany, the TID is a strong voice for Tibet.
VTD promotes Tibetan culture, language and religion for Tibetans in exile living in Germany.
TID and VTD will look back at their past engagement with Tibetans and want to honour members and supporters for their long-term support and dedication to the cause of an independent Tibet.
