Dharamshala: On 4th July 2013, The Tibetan Sports Association (TSA) announced the 19 GYALYUM CHEMO MEMORIAL GOLD CUP (GCMGC) Football Tournament which will be played at Rabgyaling Tibetan Settlement, Hunsur, South India from 21st July.
This 12 days long tournament played every year among the Tibetan Football Clubs from different part of India is dedicated to the late mother of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
It was started in 1981 and has been organised by the TSA since 2003. More than forty different clubs have participated in the tournaments.
The Tibetan Football players are selected from this tournament to represent Tibet in various international tournaments. This year there are nineteen clubs from India, two clubs from Nepal and one from Canada.
Twenty two teams will be competing for the coveted GCMGC trophy played across India among the international participating teams.
