choice-2013Dharamshala:- The Choice HIV+ AIDS Initiative, a prominent Tibetan NGO in Dharamshala, India, which has been recognised for its efforts to spread awareness on HIV and AIDS among the exile Tibetan community has announced that it will be dissolving in 2013, six years after its inception.

For the past six years, the Choice team consisting of Dr. Tenzin Namdul, Mr Lobsang Yeshi, Nurse Tsering Paldon, Mr Phuntsok Chomphel and Dr. Yangzom Dolkar had conducted over 160 HIV/AIDS awareness Workshops, Trainings and Networking programs.

In 2010, Choice formed the 'Network of Positive People' in three major Tibetan settlements to support forty HIV infected individuals and their families and were instrumental in connecting Tibetan people living with HIV/AIDS to the Department of Health of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) and other hospitals of the Government Of India, where they could avail free drugs and standard treatment.

The CTA now conducts workshops on HIV/AIDS awareness and also training for nurses and HIV victims, aiming to create a network among them and to provide financial assistance.
