Dharamshala, India — His Holiness the Dalai Lama begins three-day teaching on Dharmakirti's "Commentary on Valid Cognition" on Monday for Taiwanese and people from 55 countries. During the teaching, His Holiness said, "If we want to bring peace to the world, we must pay attention to how to achieve peace of mind within ourselves."

Toronto — Seven Tibetan activists from Canada began their three-week Peace Rally Marathon for Tibet with three demands and an appeal to the Canadian government and international communities: support for the Sino-Tibetan dialogue, the release of the 11th Panchen Lama and all political prisoners in Tibet, and return of His Holiness the Dalai lama to Tibet.

Tokyo — Sikyong of the Central Tibetan Administration, visited Japan for a week and met with Japanese parliamentarians and students from Japanese universities. He urged the parliamentarians to adopt resolutions similar to those of the US Congress and appoint a Special Coordinator for Tibet.

Geneva — At the 51st session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, 27 UN member states, including the United States, Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Lithuania and the European Union, expressed their concern at the serious human rights violations and systematic repression in Tibet by the Chinese government.

Geneva — Tibetans from Switzerland and Liechtenstein staged a demonstration against the Chinese government's violation of human rights in Tibet and asked the UN Human Rights Council to report on the human rights situation in Tibet.
