Tibetans protest against China’s 70 years of illegal occupation of Tibet

New York, US — While China celebrated the 70th anniversary of the so-called "peaceful liberation of Tibet" in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, Tibetans in New York staged protest against China's 70-year illegal occupation of Tibet, shouted "Tibet belongs to Tibetans, China get out of Tibet, free Tibet now".

On August 20, 2021, Tibetans in New York protested against China’s celebration of so-called "peaceful liberation of Tibet" on August 19, 2021, and shouted “Tibet belongs to Tibetans, China get out of Tibet, free Tibet now, free Panchen Lama now, stop killing in Tibet, stop genocide in Tibet, stop torture in Tibet, China lies people dies, boycott Beijing Olympic, no freedom no Olympic”.

The event was organized by Regional Tibetan Youth Congress of NY&NY, Students for a Free Tibet, Chushi Gangdug NYNJ, and around 20 people present there to protest against Chinese illegal occupation of Tibet.

On August 19, 2021, the Chinese Communist Party celebrated the 70th anniversary of the so-called "peaceful liberation of Tibet" in Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, while the Tibetan Youth Congress condemned its celebration and stated that Tibetans in Tibet live under oppressive policies and their true desire is the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tibet and the independence of Tibet.
