Dharamshala, India—His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet yet again becomes one of the top 10 most admired men of 2020 in the United states. The Nobel Peace Prize Laureate is among the top 10 list of most admired people according to a poll conducted by Gallup.

The Tibetan spiritual leader becomes one of the top ten most admired men in the United States for the 11th year in a row. The Tibetan religious head known for his contribution in world peace is admired and loved immensely worldwide. The symbol of the world peace has yet again become one of the most beloved leaders of the world in a public poll conducted by Gallup, a company based in Washington, US known for its worldwide opinion polls, carried out from December 1 to December 17, 2020 in the US.

Americans are asked for a response on the basis of the question; What man that you have heard or read about, living today in any part of the world, do you admire the most? More than 18% Americans named Donald Trump, former US president Barack Obama with 15%, Joe Biden 6% and Dr Anthony Fauci with a score of 3%. The remaining top 10 men included Pope Francis, businessman Elon Musk, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates, basketball player LeBron James, and Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibet.

This year marks the 11th time for the Tibetan spiritual leader to be in the list of top 10 men. 10th time for Donald Trump including four times before he entered party politics; 1988 through 1990 and 2011. Bill Gates has finished in the top 10 a total of 21 times, while Barack Obama, the former US president has done 15 times. Joe Biden has been in the top 10 once before, in 2018, while Dr Anthony Fauci and LeBron James are new to the list.

former first lady Michelle Obama tops the list of top 10 most admired women with a score of 10% followed by Vice President-elect Kamala Harris with 6% in the second place, and current first lady Melania Trump came in third place with 4%. Other most admired women this year include television personality Oprah Winfrey, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Hillary Clinton, New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Queen Elizabeth II of England, Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett and climate change activist Greta Thunberg.

Apart from the influential figures of the world, 11% of Americans named a relative or close friend as the man they admire most. 21% of the people did not provide an opinion in response to the open-ended question. On the other hand, 16% of Americans name a relative or friend as the woman they admire most, and 19% do not have an opinion.
