Dharamshala, India — The president of the Tibetan-government-in-exile, officially known as Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) on behalf of Tibetans in and outside Tibet, extended heartiest congratulations to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the National Democratic Alliance on its successful win in the Lok Sabha elections — 'Conducting World’s Biggest Democratic Event.’
The democratically elected leader of the Tibetan people, President Dr Lobsang Sangay today extended heartiest congratulations to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the National Democratic Alliance on its successful win in the Lok Sabha elections.
Letter of congratulations from Presidents Dr Lobsang Sangay to Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, Dr Sangay congratulated India and its 130 crore citizens for successfully conducting the world’s biggest democratic event ever seen.
'The young Tibetan democratic system in exile whose present leadership were born and educated in India took great pride in the fact that the Tibetan democratic system was set up in this great nation of India," the Tibetan President said.
“For six decades, India has been a second home and a gracious host to His Holiness the Great Fourteenth Dalai Lama and the Tibetans. No country has done more for Tibetans than India and its generous people," Dr Sangay said.
"To express our gratitude to the Indian government and its people, the year 2018 under the leadership of the Central Tibetan Administration was observed as the Thank you Year with a series of Thank You India events held all over India,” he added.
“I hope that the bond shared between India and Tibet will continue to remain strong and India will continue to support the just cause of Tibet," the President said, adding: “Once again, I congratulate and wish you great success and prosperity of this great nation under your able and dynamic leadership.”
After BJP securing a comfortable majority, leaders across the world have congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his historic electoral victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
US President Donald Trump congratulated Prime Minister Modi and BJP for "BIG election victory!" Congratulations to Modi, Trump said "Great things are in store for the US-India partnership with the return of PM Modi at the helm. I look forward to continuing our important work together!".
Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated Modi. In his letter, Xi said he is looking forward to work with Modi. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe also congratulated Modi over phone. Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory telegram to Modi.
Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih also congratulated Modi. “It is a strong affirmation of the Indian people’s confidence in the BJP/led government,” he tweeted. “I look forward to closer and enhanced ties of Maldives-India cooperation.”
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina: I strongly believe that with the renewed mandate given to both of us by our respective peoples, Bangladesh-India ties, which have already been termed as a role model of good neighbourliness, will be further consolidated and our relations will scale newer heights.

"Congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a strong mandate from the people of India. The government and the people of Afghanistan look forward to expanding cooperation between our two democracies," Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani tweeted.
Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck also sent their congratulatory messages to PM Narendra Modi over his return to 7 LKM, New Delhi.
Other international leaders, who have congratulated PM Narendra Modi for his likely to return to PM office, include Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades, Protugese PM António Costa, Tanzanian President Dr John Magufuli.
Italian president Giuseppe Conte wished Narendra Modi 'for winning the legislative elections in India'. The European leader hailed Indian democratic process. "The traditional vitality and dynamism of Indian democracy is confirmed. Wishing to the Leader and friend success in his endeavors," Conte said in his tweet.
PM Narendra Modi-led Bharataiya Janata Party looks set to win a comfortable majority as per the trends of Lok Sabha election results. The BJP is likely to cross the 300 seat mark on its own and the Natonal Democratic Alliance may bag 350 seats.
Commenting on the Election result trends, PM Narendra Modi tweeted: "Together we grow. Together we prosper. Together we will build a strong and inclusive India. India wins yet again!"
