Tibetans Slam Chinese Premier Wen's Europe Tour This Week

28 april 2012 002Dharamshala, April 28- In a series of protests, Tibetans in Poland ashamed the Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao this week on his trip to Europe.

As the Chinese premier visited Poland at the end of his four nation trip to Europe, dozens of Tibetans and Tibetan supporters stormed the Chinese premier Wen Jiabao's visit.

"We are kept at a distance as Poland doesn't want us to unwelcome the Chinese premier, but we protested loud and strong enough that Chinese premier was ashamed, and got disturbed," Tsetan Namgyal, a participant in the protest said.

Unwelcoming the Chinese leader, Tibetans residing in Poland waved Tibetan flag, and banners reading "free Tibet," and shouted "China out of Tibet, and "stop killing in Tibet."

Wen Jiabao was on a two-day visit in Poland since Thursday as a part of his four-nation visit in Europe, and on both the days in Poland, Tibetans chased and stormed his visit despite the heavy security personnel presence blocking roads from the Tibetan protesters.

Jamphel Yeshi, a Tibetan youth in the Indian capital New Delhi set himself on fire aflame in protest against the Chinese President Hu Jiantao's visit to the Indian capital on 26 March.

Jamphel was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital with 90 percent burn injuries, and passed away after 24 hours.

Apart from one and half million Tibetans died as a direct result of Chinese occupation, exile Tibetans said that more than 30 Tibetans in Tibet have burned themselves on fire in calling for freedom in Tibet, and return of the Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama from exile.
