Dharamshala: A Tibetan man living inside Tibet has reported that Chinese authorities have recently arrested a Tibetan man praying at one of Tibet’s main temples in the Lhasa region of northeastern Tibet.
On October 15, 2012, Tibetans worldwide celebrated the annual Palden Lhamo day, the Buddhist Goddess of Deity. On this day, many people in Tibet had lined up to attend the main temple in the Lhasa region of Tibet, the Tsuklak Khang Temple.
While in line, one Tibetan man from the Kham region in southeast Tibet, began shouting prayers for His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and for God to resolve the continued suffering of Tibetans. As his cries increased, many other worshippers heard his pleas in addition to several undercover police officers.
A few weeks later, on November 27, at 5:30 pm Chinese police officers arrested him as he prayed in front of a statue of Jowo Rinpoche. His current status and whereabouts remain unknown.
Other worshippers were also arrested on this day.
