26November2012-004Dharamshala: - A latest source coming out of Tibet said that a Tibetan self-immolated in Serta county of eastern Tibet to protest against Chinese rule over Tibet.

Wangyal, a Tibetan man in his 20s, have set himself on fire in protest against the Chinese government in Sertar, eastern Tibet around 12 noon (local time) today (26 November).

Wangyal set himself ablaze in front of the golden-horse statue at the local ground in Sertar. Chinese authorities immediately arrived at the immolation site and took away Wangyal’s body, eyewitnesses said.

Hundreds of local Tibetans later gathered at the site to show their solidarity.

Wangyal is an ex-monk from Taktse township in Sertar. The latest incident has pushed the total number to 82, including 6 in a 7 days and 20 within this month alone, according to the exile Tibetan administration.

The self-immolators have called for the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tibet and freedom for Tibetans.
