DSC 0325Dharamshala:-Lubum Gyal, 18 set himself on fire yesterday evening in Dowa town of Rebkong, eastern Tibet, apparently in protest against the Chinese brutal rule over the Tibetan soil ‘Tibet’.

Reliable regular sources told Tibet Post that following the immolation, Tibetans successfully rescued the chaired body of the youngster from being taken away by the Chinese police.

“Monks from the Dowa Monastery later carried out the last rites of Lubum Gyal at a place nearby the monastery,” sources said.

Xinhua, Chinese official news agency confirmed that the Tibetan youth succumbed to his burn injuries.

Since 2009, more than 75 Tibetans in Tibet have burned themselves on fire firmly calling for freedom in Tibet and return of the Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama from exile.
