7august20099Dharamshala: A source from Tibet said, three Tibetans from Dege Jodha county, eastern Tibet have been sentenced for two year jail term each on 4 August by a local Chinese court in Karze , but the Chinese authorities "did not announce about what was the reason for their sentences".

According to the report, the announcement of the sentences came after five Tibetans were arrested from Dege Dhodha county, eastern Tibet on 27 June by Chinese armed police under the accusation of involvement in political activists. The arrested Tibetans are; Mr. Norlha, aged 47, Gonpo Dhargye aged 44, Jampa aged 46, Tseten aged 40 and Bhulhuk aged 56, all from Dege Jodha county.

On 4 August, a Chinese local court in Jodha county, Karze region has sentenced three Tibetan men to jail term of two years each without announcing what their involvement or wrong doing; "Jampa who has 12 family members, Tseten who has nine family members and Bhulhuk who has six family members were sentenced to jail for two year term," said report.

Since March 2008 over 220 Tibetans have been killed, 1,294 injured and 290 sentenced, more than 5,600 were arrested or detained and over 1,000 disappeared after the Chinese armed military deadly cracked down in all parts of Tibet. Newly minted warrants and ramped up security forces make life increasingly more difficult for Tibetans to live inside of Tibet. China's human rights violations are swept under the "rug" of propaganda because foreign journalists are highly restricted throughout Tibet.
