26june20091Dharamshala: A report from Tibet said, that Mr. Tashi, a Tibetan and a local official from Bhathang county eastern Tibet, was arrested on his way home on 19 June suspected of organization of a bomb attack in Tibet at the height of anti-China protests nearly three months ago. Before the arrest many protesters suspected of hanging politically motivated banners in the area managed to escape.

According to the report, Tashi is suspected of being behind of an explosion at the Chinese police building of Pogurshi township, Bhathang county, eastern Tibet in March this year. His arrest comes after many young Tibetans escaped from the areas as they were suspected of hanging banners in the township and its surrounding areas. It read "Go Back Chinese" "Free Tibet" and "Long live His Holiness the Dalai Lama" in Chinese and Tibetan."

Tashi, a 40 years old Tibetan, a son of Urgyen Rigzin (Father) and Akyid (Mother) was local official of Phogurshi township, Bhathang county, eastern Tibet. There is still no confirmation where he has been detained or still alive after he was arrested by the armed Chinese military forces in the area.

Since March 2008 over 220 Tibetans have been killed, 1,294 injured and 290 sentenced, more than 5,600 were arrested or detained and over 1,000 disappeared after the Chinese armed military deadly cracked down in all parts of Tibet.  Newly minted warrants and ramped up security forces make life increasingly more difficult for Tibetans to live inside Tibet.  China’s human rights violations are swept under the “rug” of propaganda because foreign journalists are highly restricted throughout Tibet and only some selected small groups are permitted to visit Lhasa, the capital of Tibet and other Tibetan areas.
