Dharamshala — The democratically-elected President of the Tibetan people, Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay, was welcomed by members of the Northwestern Tibetan Cultural Association in Portland, Oregon on August 23rd for a trip to the United States, which included celebrating Tibet Fest in Seattle.

New Delhi — The Austrian ambassador to India has said that His Holiness the Dalai Lama is most welcome to Austria. H.E Brigitte Oeppinger-Walchshofer, Ambassador of Austria said she believes the spiritual leader of Tibet is one of the most revered spiritual figures in the world.

Taipei — The so called "Mongolian and Tibetan Affairs Commission" (MTAC) will be dissolved by the end of August this year, Taiwanese media reported, citing an official from the Taiwan Executive Yuan this week.
